The Audition Run

This blues composition is an example of a fast blues with a simple harmonic structure, performed at a tempo of 140 BPM. Each section consists of a 12-bar blues progression following the traditional harmonic pattern based on the I–IV–I–V–IV–I degrees.

The song begins with a main section that functions as the chorus and returns twice throughout the piece. It then moves to a second section featuring a different rhythmic treatment in each repetition, culminating in a solo built primarily around chordal playing. In total, the composition comprises six 12-bar blues choruses.

The formal structure is as follows: introductory riff, first rhythmic section, guitar solo accompanied by chords, return of the introductory riff, second rhythmic section, second guitar solo accompanied by chords, and coda. In the ending, the first four measures of the song are restated before the piece concludes on the tonal center.
